No, it's not a strange creature of the deep, but a man snorkelling among a shoal of fish.
The amusing photograph was captured by backpacker Nick Kelly with an underwater camera in tropical seas.
Nick, from Los Angeles, said: 'I was travelling around south east Asia and was staying on the island of Ko Tao in Thailand to study Muay Thai.
'I went snorkelling with a friend and took lots of pictures of the amazing sea life, but this was the best one.
'I didn't really notice until back on the beach but the fish had completely stolen the shot.'
The tropical warm waters off Thai islands such as Ko Tao are home to a host of incredible fish.
They include the barramundi, queen fish and parrot fish.
Larger visitors include the whale shark and Hawksbill and Green turtles.
